Pedro Gouveia is a professor at the University of Algarve's School of Management, Hospitality and Tourism where he teaches in the field of economics in the specific areas of Microeconomics, Macroeconomics, Econometrics, Economics of the Environment and Natural Resources and European economics. He obtained his undergraduate degree in Economics in 1996 and a Masters in Economic and Corporate Sciences in 2001. In 2009 he completed his PhD in Econometrics. Research interests include econometrics and time series, non-linearity in economic variables, economic cycles, tourism economics, seasonality, nonstationarity, cointegration, structural breaks and time series forecasting. He has published over twenty articles in international and national peer-reviewed journals. At the applied research level, he has participated in several commissioned partner projects between central and local administration agencies and the University of the Algarve.
