Lara Noronha Ferreira is an adjunct professor at the Department of Quantitative Methods of the School of Management, Hospitality and Tourism of the University of the Algarve. She has a first degree in Economics from the Faculty of Economics of the University of the Algarve (1997) and a Master in Health Economics from the Faculty of Economics of the University of Coimbra (2002), where she has also completed her PhD in Economics and Econometric Models by the University of Coimbra (2009). Her research interests include health economics, health econometrics, health statistics, modelling and valuing health, measuring health and health related quality of life. She is co-author of various articles published in international and national scientific indexed and referred journals such as Value in Health, Quality of Life Research, Applied Research in Quality of Life, Portuguese Journal of Pulmonology, Portuguese Rheumatologic Acta, among others. She is referee for several international scientific indexed and referred journals. She is also a researcher at the Centre for Health Studies & Research - University of Coimbra and is currently involved in several research projects funded, amongst others, by the Portuguese Foundation for Science and Technology, Office of the High Commissioner for Health, Pfizer.
